The school is accredited by the New York State Department of Education and the Middle States Association. The school is ranked the 96th best high school in the US according to Newsweek's Ranking of the top 500 high schools in the US as of 2015.

Rye High School is an accredited public high school, with approximately 1,020 students and a teaching staff of 79.  Over 95% of our graduates enter universities and colleges.  To meet the needs of all our students, we offer classes at the Honors and Regents levels.  We also offer 21 College Board Advanced Placement courses.  Last year, over fifty percent of our students participated in the AP program and took an average of 2.1 AP courses.  Rye High School has been constantly recognized for its academic strengths by placing in the top 100 high schools in the national rankings conducted by The Washington Post and Newsweek Magazine.  Please visit the Guidance web page for more information on course offerings and detailed information on our academic program.
